"The unique combination of visibility, acceleration and security offered by our ProxySG appliances provides the technological innovation and differentiation that has propelled Blue Coat to the leader in the WAN optimization market.”

Blue Coat WAN Optimization – A Part of Application Delivery Networks
WAN optimization is a critical technology component of Application Delivery Networks, which integrate visibility, acceleration and security technologies to optimize and secure business applications.

Blue Coat® ProxySG® appliances accelerate enterprise applications, on-demand or live video, and remote file access across the Wide Area Network (WAN). At the same time, ProxySG appliances provide visibility into Web content and applications, enabling enterprises to accelerate business applications, including SSL-encrypted ones, while limiting the impact of recreational traffic. The appliances can also protect against Web-based malware, spyware and other malicious threats. When combined with the extended visibility and advanced quality of service from Blue Coat PacketShaper® appliances, ProxySG appliances provide businesses with an Application Delivery Network infrastructure.
