After five yeas of research and development Bisan Systems launched their latest Financial Management Information System, Bisan Enterprise Online Edition at the Palestinian IT Exhibition EXPOTECH 2005. This highly anticipated product is the first local accounting system in the Middle East to be offered online. The system is provided as an ASP application or may be leased as a traditional on-site installation.
EXPOTECH 2005, held between September 13-15, witnessed over 12,000 visitors and was a huge success for the growing Palestinian IT market. Bisan Systems demonstrated their new application to visitors at their exhibition booth. Also, to a standing room only audience, Bisan’s Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, Mr. Marwan Totah, held a seminar on Application Service Provider Applications. Mr. Totah reviewed the cost benefits for firms subscribing to software applications and explained the benefits of securing company data off-site where professionals can safeguard it. One of the highlights of the Online application, as expressed by many in the seminar, was the fact that a firm’s staff would have secure access to mission critical applications, such as the firm’s financial system, from any Internet-connected PC worldwide.
Speaking to reporters after the launch announcement, Chairman Totah stated, “Today’s launch of the Bisan Enterprise Edition marks a significant milestone, not only for Bisan as a software development firm, but for how software application provisioning is developing in the region. With Bisan’s Online Edition, firms are provided with quality service and support and no longer need to worry about investing in on-site hardware and IT staff to run their mission critical applications. Now firms can focus on their core business while having the utmost confidence that their applications and data are being maintained by IT professionals. Furthermore, the versatility of having an online application means that salespeople can place orders while on the road and managers can review data and print reports from any Internet-enabled computer, not to mention the ability for firms to give auditors direct access to any part of their financial data that they desire.”
Bisan Systems’ new Enterprise Edition, which is based on the Java programming language, is also fully customizable and available for all size enterprises. Price depends on the number of concurrent users and several add-on modules, such as a Consolidation Module, Branch Module and full Audit Trail Capability. The application fully complies with International Accounting Standards and is truly multilingual and multi-currency based.
With well over 650 installations of the Bisan Accounting and Management Package and over 1,000 users, at different locations, including Palestine, Jordan, and the United States, Bisan is currently in the process of migrating its current customer base to the new Enterprise Edition. Orders are currently being taken for new clients and plans are to begin deployment for new users by November 2005.
