ALBAWABA - President Joe Biden admitted that he "flopped" in the previous debate against Republican Donald Trump. Despite the defeat, Biden pledged to run for president.
"I had a terrible night," Biden said on Wisconsin's "The Earl Ingram Show," about the June 27 live debate. I failed and erred. Just 90 minutes on stage, look at my work in 3.5 years." He denied concerns of quitting, saying he learnt from his father to rise up after a fall and was certain of winning the election.
Biden said, "I'm not going anywhere." during a July 4th White House gathering for military families.
Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Roy O. Disney, threatened to stop donating to the party if Biden did not resign. Disney told CNBC that her position was justified by anxiety, stating, "If Biden does not withdraw, the Democrats will lose."
Disney said "we can win this election by a landslide." if Democrats gave Harris even a quarter of the tolerance they show Biden.
In an interview with the New York Times, Netflix co-founder and big Democratic contributor Reed Hastings urged Biden to let other strong Democratic leaders challenge Trump. Hastings was the first significant donor to urge Biden to drop out.
To allay worries about his age for a second term, Biden's debate performance was poor and criticized. Raul Grijalva and Lloyd Doggett also want Biden out.
The White House has announced that President Biden would "definitely" run for president despite rising pressure.
