On Monday, Lebanon extradited to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) an Iraqi-born British businessman wanted for extortion of 240 million dollars, judicial sources in Beirut said Monday.

A UAE security team escorted Hamdi Rahme on an airplane back to the Gulf state, they said, according to AFP.

The United Arab Emirates had asked Lebanon for Rahme's extradition for allegedly extorting 240 million dollars from Ajman ruler Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid al-Nuaimi. (Albawaba.com)
