The trial of the West Bank Fatah leader, Marwan Barghouti, resumed Thursday in Tel Aviv, with Barghouti being ejected from the courtroom at the beginning of proceedings.
Barghouti was brought into the courtroom by a police escort and as he raised his hands and began to shout, an Israeli police officer pulled his hands down and brought Barghouti to the floor. Barghouti was then escorted out of the court room. His lawyer said it was "a brutal attack."
Barghouti refused to return to the courtroom, saying that the court's intention was to humiliate him.
The Judge decided to extend Barghouti's remand until the end of the proceedings against him, Israel Radio reported. (Albawaba.com)
