The Spanish minister of defense Fedrico Trillo met in Manama on Sunday with the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad ben Issa al-Khalifa and discussed with him bilateral relations, as well as regional and international matters of mutual interest.
The Bahrain news agency reported that the King discussed with Trillo the friendly relations between the two countries.
On his part, Sheikh Hamad expressed Manama’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Madrid, emphasizing the importance of exchanging visits by officials in the two countries to consolidate joint cooperation.
The Spanish minister, for his part, praised the political and economic achievements realized in Bahrain, which would benchmark Bahrain among other countries.
Trillo further hailed the development and progress, taking place in the commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, he met Saturday with his Bahraini counterpart, lieutenant general Sheikh Khalifa ben Ahmad al-Khalifa and reviewed relations of cooperation between the two countries as well as issues of mutual concern. (Albawaba.com)
