The king of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Essa al-Khalifa emphasized the need for the upcoming Arab summit to be in support of the Palestinian cause. He said that the issue of the support for the Palestinian leadership and people should be the essential part of the summit.

King Hamad told the Bahrain News Agency Sunday night that the Palestinian suffering was a result of the Israeli invasion and should not be accepted, therefore the summit should be Palestine's summit and it is useless to hold it without the presence of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

He added that this opinion conforms to "our expectations and the expectations of our loyal people".

He made clear that Arafat is the only one who can explain the Palestinian position. (Albawaba.com)
