A call went out Tuesday for greater community support to combat cancer, which is the second major cause of deaths in Bahrain, said Gulf Daily News on Wednesday.
The call came from Health Minister Faisal Al Mousawi, who also underlined the importance of research and exchange of information in the area of cancer treatment and management, said the paper.
He was speaking at the opening of the second international cancer conference being organized by the Bahrain Cancer Society (BCS) in co-operation with the Health Ministry at Le Royal Meridien Hotel.
The three-day conference is being held under the theme: Facing Cancer in the New Millennium – Albawaba.com
