The Bahraini government announced its resignation on Sunday to make way for a new cabinet following the kingdom's first legislative polls in thirty years.
Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa, who has held the portfolio since independence in 1971, tendered the resignation along with his own to King Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifa after the weekly cabinet meeting, the official Bahrain News Agency reported.
The make-up of the new government was to be announced Monday or Tuesday, according to local media reports. The news agency said the king would appoint the cabinet "in the coming days". (Albawaba.com)
