AUB to hold regional to-day workshop on Arab world policy for post-2012 climate negotiations
The American University of Beirut's Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy & International Affairs will be hosting a regional climate policy workshop from 14-15 October 2008 in Beirut, Lebanon; titled “Arab World Policy for Post-2012 Climate Negotiations”. The workshop will be held on campus, in West Hall.
The main objective of the workshop is to produce a regional declaration on global climate change policy that will be submitted to the League of Arab States and other decision-makers in the Arab World.
Sponsored by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the League of Independent Activists, the workshop also hopes to build the capacity of Arab climate change stakeholders to effectively engage in the post-Kyoto negotiation process, as well as identify potential Arab collaborations to pursue shared research, policy, educational, and information-sharing objectives
