Top leaders hear upbeat message at Beirut annual conference

ARAMEX (DFM: ARMX), the global transportation and logistics solutions provider, recently hosted its two-day annual conference in Beirut. A total of 400 of the company’s leaders attended the meeting.

An ARAMEX tradition for over 20 years, the annual leaders conference brings together the company’s top management from around the world. They meet to exchange views, share ideas and experiences, and renew the group’s culture among its 5,000 employees in 240 offices across the world. This year's conference was themed Exploring the World, reflecting ARAMEX’s focus on strengthening its presence in major international markets.

The company’s top management spoke to the delegates about the progress made over the past year and Fadi Ghandour, ARAMEX’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said there had been many notable achievements, including the IPO that led to the company’s listing on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).

Mr. Ghandour said: “The DFM listing has been a strong catalyst for growth. As a result of the listing ARAMEX has been able to vigorously pursue expansion, resulting in a series of strategic acquisitions across regional and international markets and industry sectors.” The company’s recent acquisition of TwoWay Vanguard, the Dublin-based logistics and cargo company, was hailed as a major milestone in the company's acquisition strategy.

Several industry leaders and experts addressed the delegates on key elements that contributed to the great growth and success story of ARAMEX over the past 24 years. Namely, Arif Naqvi the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Abraj Capital Limited, Ram Menen the Divisional Senior Vice President Cargo for Emirates Sky Cargo, CEO of Two Way Vanguard and George Najjar the dean of AUB’s Suliman Olayan Business school

In addition, Amr Dajjani, General Manager of food distributor Master Foods KSA explained how ARAMEX’s effective logistics solutions in the Saudi Market were essential to the company’s achievements in the Kingdom.

Mike Vosper, Operations Director, Middle East for Tech Data, one of the world’s leading IT products distributor, praised the newly opened Aramex Logistics Center in Jabel Ali and the value of ARAMEX’s regional distribution network through its logistics hubs in Bahrain and Jordan. He said the quality of these services was built on their effective use of advanced technology and multiple means of transportation across land, sea and air.

A number of performance awards were handed to the highest Aramex achievers who demonstrated exceptional results over the past year. In concluding the conference, delegates viewed a CNN report on ARAMEX’s growth as well as a documentary film on a social care program at Jabal Nazif in Amman, Jordan carried out by company’s volunteers.
