Palestinian President Yasser Arafat will visit Russia on August 10th, reported Reuters, quoting a spokesman at the Palestinian diplomatic mission in Moscow.
The spokesman declined to give further details and Russia's Foreign Ministry declined to comment.
Russia has been an official co-sponsor of multilateral Middle East peace talks along with the United States since 1991 but has played only a marginal role as bilateral Palestinian-Israeli talks gathered steam.
Meanwhile, Arafat Tuesday met Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in eastern Algeria, on the latest leg of his tour of Arab countries following the breakdown of Middle East peace talks in Camp David, reported AFP, quoting officials.
Arafat told reporters after the meeting in Annaba that Algeria's position was "a precious support" to the Palestinians, "particularly at the present stage in the peace process."
Arafat arrived in Annaba late Monday, after a brief stop in Tunisia.
After Camp David ended in failure on July 25th largely over the Palestinians' demand for sovereignty over east Jerusalem, Arafat started a tour of information that has already taken him to Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Morocco and Tunisia.
He left Annaba for Tunis, from where he is scheduled to go to Libya, said AFP - (Several Sources)
