Palestinian President Yasser Arafat ordered the restoration of “Joseph Tomb” after it had been burnt down by Palestinian demonstrators following the withdrawal of Israeli troops early on Saturday, reported news agencies.
“Arafat ordered the restoration of Joseph Tomb,” Haaretz Daily reported in bold letters Tuesday morning. The newspaper added that Arafat ordered Nablus mayor, Ghassan Shakaa, to start the restoration “work” on Sunday.
Engineers, however, said “ the restoration is intended to restore the tomb to it’s condition before 1967,” adding that they will not repair the “ parts that were added by the settlers,” Haaretz reported – Albawaba.com
