Palestinian President Yasser Arafat on Sunday appointed a new police chief in the West Bank city of Ramallah, replacing Kamal Al Sheikh, who was sacked for not stopping celebrations of the suicide bombing that killed 15 in occupied Jerusalem on Thursday.
The new chief was identified by Radio Israel as “Abu Salah.”
According to reports, Arafat, who condemned the bombing, saw the celebrations by Palestinians as “harming the image” of his people, as Arab and other countries worldwide denounced the attack – Albawaba.com
