Students in Egypt, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates demonstrated Tuesday against Israeli aggression in the West Bank and the Gaza strip, which claimed the lives of more than 60 Palestinians and left thousands injured in the past seven days.
Thousands of students marched at Egyptian universities Tuesday, waving Qurans and vowing to come to Palestinians' aid, as a wave of anti-Israeli protests rumbled on across the Middle East, reported The Associated Press.
At Cairo University, students called for a holy war to liberate Palestinian lands. Raising copies of the Quran, they demanded the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador, added the AP.
"I wish I could be a martyr like those who died in Palestine," Mohammed Ibrahim, a law student, said over cries of 'Allahu Akbar.'
In Lebanon, thousands of people demonstrated in Beirut and south Lebanon, said the AP.
A Palestinian military leader in Lebanon demanded the Lebanese government allow Palestinian refugees to march to the border with Israel "to express our solidarity with our people inside Palestine," said the agency.
"Wherever our hands can reach we will resist with all our strength in order to support the uprising and support the revolution," said Munir Makdah.
Meanwhile, at least 200 university students took to the streets of Abu Dhabi in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, reportd Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
