The Arab-African forum on sexual exploitation of children wrapped up its proceedings in Rabat on Friday with the adoption of a package of recommendations “to ensure the protection of children,” Morocco’s official news agency (MAP) reported.
Arab and African countries were called on to join the world drive to protect children against all forms of exploitation, said the participants.
In a final declaration that crowned three days of debate, participants called for the working out of an integrated regional strategy, securing the best means to avert children’s sexual exploitation, MAP added.
The three-day event was held under the patronage of Princess Lalla Meriem and chaired by the minister of women affairs, family and children protection.
The forum is held as a follow-up to the first congress held in Stockholm in 1996, which recommended countries to adopt national strategies to curb the problem – Albawaba.com
