APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, recently organized a cricket tournament for its UAE based distributors in Dubai. The tournament, which was played in the Insportz Cricket facilities in Dubai was extremely well attended, as all UAE based distributors participated.
The cricket tournament was in keeping with the traditional APC way of engaging the partners in fun and entertainment activities on a regular basis. Cricket is a popular sport among all the distributors, with all of them having dedicated teams in their companies. It was therefore a natural choice to end a difficult and stress filled year.
Speaking on the occasion, Tushar Choudhury, the marketing manager for Middle East and Turkey at APC by Schneider Electric, said: “It’s been a challenging year for all of us in 2009 and we can not thank the partners enough for the support and commitment they have shown throughout the year. APC has always been channel driven and this was a small gesture on our part to get them all together and have some fun”.
The teams were divided into two groups playing against each other, followed by the semi finals and the finals. All the matches were 8 overs a side with individual trophies being handed over to the Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Player of the Tournament, besides trophies for the winners and the runners up. The matches were extremely competitive and created quite a stir among the players and the spectators alike, with drums, whistles and other instruments coming in to play.
After a full day of excited pitching and fielding Track Distribution ME was declared the winner, with the runner up trophy going to the Aptec Team.
“The enthusiasm shown by the partners and the passion with which they played the game was amazing. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and will continue to come up with innovative ways to keep the fun alive among our channel partners” concluded Choudhury.
Participants of the Cricket Tournament were: Aptec Gulf, Redington Gulf, Track Distribution ME, Key Information Technology, Westcon ME, Logicom FZE.
