Annan Arrives in Beirut for Talks on Mideast Crisis

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in Beirut on Friday to meet with Lebanese officials as part of his ongoing efforts to find a political solution to the crisis in the region, said reports.  

Annan is scheduled to meet with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, House Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Rafiq Al Hariri.  

Annan has already held meetings in Egypt, Syria and Jordan. He is scheduled to leave Beirut Saturday for the Palestinian territories and Israel – Albawaba.com
