Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, April 19, 2008: Bringing the Ultimate Visual Experience to gamers in Saudi Arabia, AMD will demonstrate its high-performance, advanced desktop gaming systems at GITEX Saudi Arabia 2008.
On display will be desktop PC’s designed for both gaming enthusiasts who demand a rich computing experience and casual gamers who seek exceptional performance at mainstream price points. Working with Almasa IT Distribution, the advanced gaming systems will be based on AMD Phenom™ Quad-Core and Triple-Core processors.
Operating at a maximum of 65–watts, the AMD Phenom Quad-Core processor, when matched with an AMD 790 series chipset, can support up to four GPU’s per system, such as two of the ATI Radeon™ HD 3870 X2 graphics cards. This enthusiast PC platform, codenamed “Spider,” energizes the latest PC gaming titles, speeds up high-definition video playback, and delivers amazing performance for advanced productivity and multi-tasking. The enthusiast platform also comes loaded with powerful performance and features the next-generation HyperTransport™ 3.0 and energy-efficient innovations like Cool’n’Quiet™ 2.0 technology.
DirectX 10 game compatibility allows even casual gamers to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience, such as lifelike 3D graphics and dynamic interactivity in the latest game titles. This technology harnesses the graphics power of both an ATI discrete graphics card, such as the ATI Radeon 3450, and the integrated motherboard GPU.
Visitors to the exhibition will also be amongst the first in the region to see a live demonstration of the gaming system based on the recently launched AMD Phenom™ Triple-Core processor.
As the world’s only Triple-Core x86 processor, AMD Phenom X3 processors bring multi-core technology to a broader audience in search of desktop PCs that can handle today’s digital entertainment workloads. When paired with the AMD 780 series chipset, AMD Phenom X3 processors can deliver significant enhancements in gaming and in bringing high-definition experiences to mainstream gamers.
