Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, was awarded the best e-commerce website title at the 6th Pan Arab Web Awards.

Amadeus’s e-commerce division scooped three prizes for its airline e-commerce solutions and customers’ websites, namely, Qatar Airways, Egyptair and Etihad.

This joint award wins with its airline customers demonstrate Amadeus’ e-commerce leadership role and partnership approach in the region.

The Pan Arab Web Awards, judged by a panel of leading experts drawn from academia and business across the Middle East, seek to raise the standards of websites and encourage e-business in the Pan Arab region.  Judged across five key criteria – including creativity, content, usability, aesthetics and interactivity,

Amadeus scored higher than any other nominee and received the highest honour available in the e-commerce category.

Having experienced uninterrupted growth since they were first launched, Amadeus e-Commerce solutions are now the most widely used in the travel industry.  Amadeus power over 260 websites in more than 110 countries for over 100 airlines.

Antoine Medawar, Vice President, Middle East & North of Africa, at Amadeus, said, “We are pleased to see that our customers are acknowledged for the excellence of their websites and feel proud to be associated with their success through our end-to-end solutions. This award recognizes our innovative outsourcing model, which offers airlines a complete solution for their websites, based on Web 2.0 related technology.  We are fully committed to providing technology and services to not only ensure the best online user experience but also ensure business returns for airlines.”
