Kuwait said Saturday it has detained an Iraqi resident of the country who allegedly supplied Iraqi agents with "military and security" information. The Interior Ministry identified the man as Zuhair Faqira Nader, 60, who had been lived in Kuwait since 1980.

Nader was an officer in the Iraqi military and "had several contacts and meetings with intelligence officers at the embassy of the Iraqi regime in the Kingdom of Bahrain," the ministry said in a statement, quoted by AP.

"The accused has confessed he has contacted them and provided them with military and security information," the statement added.

The Interior Ministry said police found military clothes and papers at Nader's home that identify him as an officer in Iraq's Defense Ministry. (Albawaba.com)
