A new poll published in the Algerian press indicates that Algerian children on average watch more than four hours of TV a day, particularly in the two to five age group. The survey was undertaken by the National Foundation for the Protection of Health and Development.
The children on the whole watch programs made for adults. The report claims that excessive TV watching is harmful to children's development. On the other hand, many Algerians say that TV is an important family bonding activity and something all the family can do together.
