A suicide bomber blew himself up near a police barracks on the outskirts of the Algerian capital Wednesday, injuring several people, AFP reported, citing security officials.
The bomber's body was torn up by the blast and rescuers retrieved body parts from a tree.
The man had failed to reach the doors of the barracks of the republican guard in the eastern Algiers suburb of Bordj El Kiffan in the afternoon, security officials said earlier, adding that another bomb went off in front of a shop in the same area injuring at least one person.
