The head of Algeria's banned Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) on Thursday disclosed his plan for ending the 12-year crisis in the north African nation, calling for an end to the violence and presidential polls to be delayed.
At a press conference in Qatar, where he has been staying since November 2003 for medical treatment, Abassi Madani also urged that a "sovereign constituent assembly be established to draft a constitution for a new republic" in Algeria.
