The Algerian capital is hosting on Wednesday and Thursday, the second session of the top-level inter-governmental meeting on the prevention and fight against terrorism in Africa. Before the opening of the event, the African Union commission will jointly launch with the Algerian authorities the African Research Centre on Terrorism (CAERT).
According to APS, the idea of establishing this Centre was initiated by Algeria in 2002.
This Centre aims at gathering information, surveys and analyses on terrorism and terrorist groups, in close collaboration with the African Union peace and security council and commission.
