Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika arrived in Geneva on Saturday for a private visit and was met by a member of the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Algerian foreign ministry confirmed that the visit was entirely private and would contain no official business.
Bouteflika was met at Geneva's Intercontinental hotel by a relative of Emirati President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, who is currently vacationing at his residence in the French Alpine border town of Annemasse, AFP reported.
Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak visited the UAE leader in Annemasse and Saudi King Fahd in Geneva last week. French President Jacques Chirac also visited the UAE leader last week. (Albawaba.com)
