A small bomb has exploded near Carrefour hypermarket in the El-Seyouf area of Alexandria, Aswat Masriya reported.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar told Ahram Online that one person was killed and five injured in the blast on Sunday morning. The deceased victim was transferred to the morgue while the rest were taken to hospital.
Abdel-Ghaffar added that earlier on Sunday four people were injured in a separate blast near Alexandria's Meharam Bey police station.
