ALDAR Clinches HCT’s “Special Academic/Industry Partnership” Award
ALDAR Properties PJSC, the leading integrated property development company, has been bestowed with the ‘Special Academic/Industry Partnership” Award by the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT). The award was presented to ALDAR at a special ceremony hosted by HCT’s Abu Dhabi Women’s College’s on Tuesday 17th June, as part of the College’s “Tamayyuz: Partnership Celebration” The event was held to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of community partners to the college.
Abdulla Zamzam, ALDAR’s Chief Economic and Administration Officer, who received the award on behalf of Abu Dhabi’s leading property developer, said: “It is a great honour for ALDAR to see its initiatives in the area of corporate social responsibility gain the recognition of a leading institution like HCT, which has an impressive record of contribution to the community. Corporate social responsibility has always been at the core of ALDAR’s mission and this has translated into a multitude of initiatives in a wide range of pursuits.”
ALDAR announced in May that it was sponsoring the chair, “Dean of Business Studies”, at HCT. Under the agreement, ALDAR will sponsor five UAE nationals in HCT’s real estate management programme. Specialised seminars and training programmes relevant to the real estate industry will also be offered to HCT students. Other aspects of the agreement include internship programmes with ALDAR to help HCT students build on-the-job skills.
The initiative was praised by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of HCT, as a demonstration of ALDAR’s commitment to the development of national human resources. Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Chairman, ALDAR Properties, described the agreement as “another testament to ALDAR’s commitment to its social responsibilities.” “As a leading property developer, ALDAR is naturally keen to see that young nationals take up business studies, including ones specifically focused on real estate management. Through our partnership with HCT, we hope to build a broad base of highly skilled nationals who can contribute proactively to the development of their country.”
