Al Wasl Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre benefits from TAMANI CARES program
The five star all-suites TAMANI Hotel Marina in collaboration with Al Wasl Hospital successfully held a ‘one-day Blood Letting Campaign’ last May 28th 2008 from 9am till 2:30pm. This socially worthy program represents one activity that TAMANI secures to carry out its social responsibility towards a healthier society.
TAMANI Hotels and Resorts’ introduces TAMANI CARES, an advocacy program that promotes the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of TAMANI which carries out socially worthy campaigns for common support to causes that benefits the majority towards the environment, community and to the society in general.
The Blood Donation Campaign, one of the activities under TAMANI CARES, is a voluntary activity by the employees and management of sub-unit TAMANI Hotel Marina, a member of TAMANI Hotels and Resorts, and is meant to be an annual charity drive whereby employees, guests and associate partners of TAMANI Hotel Marina are invited to help government hospitals like Al Wasl attain its goal to have available, sufficient and steady supply of blood by initiating blood-letting activities in accessible venues like hotels. Donors are invited to donate blood for the benefit of
Thalassemia patients of Al Wasl Hospital especially for the underprivileged patients who cannot even afford to buy it for lack of funds, and in addition, to support the steady supply of blood which maybe required in times of emergencies.
The Blood Donation Centre of Al Wasl is encouraging corporations, private firms and hotel companies including TAMANI Hotel Marina to help them source more blood donors to supplement the current supply of bloods at the Blood Donation Centre.
“TAMANI cares for the society to which we belong. All of us here at TAMANI Hotel Marina are doing our bit of share to support the well meaning objective of Al Wasl Hospital to support their poor patients’ avail of blood donated by healthy donors. Helping raise awareness of the Blood Donation campaign, we produced flyers and distributed them to neighboring companies and established organizations within our vicinity area. The more blood donors the better to up the Blood Donation Centers’ supply. We are pleased that our humble efforts went towards the deprived in and out-patients who needs them most. I thank everyone who joined us in this worthy activity,” says Muin Serhan, Hotel general manager.
The Blood Letting program conducted by TAMANI Hotel Marina is just one of the many TAMANI CARES initiatives that is grounded on the aspect of volunteerism where donors freely donate blood without fee to help saves lives and also to support underprivileged members of society who cannot afford to purchase it for their own medical use due to lack of funds.
