The Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al Shara described the Arab Foreign Ministers Emergency Meeting in Cairo last Thursday as falling short of responding fully to the aspirations of the Arab public opinion and did not express the exact pulse of it.
In a statement to reporters following the final session of the meeting, al Shara indicated that Syria expressed its stance, and would have preferred if the final statement had been better. Earlier, the final statement of the foreign ministers meeting rejected the inclusion of the names of the Palestinian and Lebanese national resistance movements in the lists of terrorism.
The final statement also rejected any threats of using force against any Arab country.
The statement stressed that the Israeli attempt to link the assassinations campaign and oppression against the Palestinian people with the Sept.11th events, is a clear attempt to deepen hatred between the Arabs and the United States and to put a final end to the peace process. (Albawaba.com)
