Further enhancing the medical service infrastructure in Al Quoz industrial area, Karama Medical Centre (KMC), one of the leading health facilities in the UAE, announced the opening of a new branch in the area.
Located in the Grand City Mall, the extension is expected to provide outstanding and affordable healthcare facilities to residents, industrial workers and office employees at Al Quoz. Most importantly, the branch also hosts an emergency section offering prompt medical attention to minor industrial injuries.
The KMC branch was recently inaugurated by Indian Consul K. Asokan. The 2,500-square feet KMC facility will operate alongside a 800-square foot Better Life Pharmacy. The new medical centre and the pharmacy have been set up at a total investment of AED 3 million.
William P.Jeyasingh, Managing Director, KMC and Better Life Pharmacy, said: “Al Quoz is a bustling location and an upcoming new township of Dubai with a large number of workers. Nearly 30 per cent of our patients come from the Al Quoz area and, after understanding their difficulties in reaching us in Karama, it was imperative to extend our services closer to their workplace.”
William noted that the new facility is equipped to deal with industrial accidents and emergencies. The medical centre has five consulting rooms and spacious waiting areas. Currently, the centre has nine full-time doctors in the main branch at Karama and four at the Al Quoz branch, providing general medicine, orthopaedic and dental care services.
He added that the establishment of the Al Quoz facility was in line with Karama Medical Centre’s expansion policy. After Karama, Ajman and Al Quoz, KMC is working on setting up a similar centre in Sharjah.
Dr. Avanthikabai, Medical Director at Karama Medical Centre and Better Life Pharmacy, said: “Making affordable and world-class healthcare facilities accessible to as many people remains the central goal of KMC. The new branch underlines that commitment. While providing optimum healthcare services to our customers, we have also designed programmes to suit the needs of our corporate clients.”
The timings at the Al Quoz branch are from 9 am to 10 pm while the Better Life Pharmacy operates between 8 am and 11pm.
