ALBAWABA- Hebrew media reports an "unusual and significant" security event in Gaza, as Al-Qassam Brigades claim responsibility for one of the largest ambushes targeting Israeli soldiers since the beginning of the war.
According to Al-Qassam, their fighters executed a pre-planned ambush east of Jabalia, inflicting heavy casualties on a mechanized infantry company consisting of 12 military vehicles and a truck loaded with soldiers.
The attack began when a "Shawaz" bomb detonated on the truck carrying soldiers, followed by a "thunder" bomb hitting a Hummer jeep.
The fighters then advanced, engaging Israeli soldiers at point-blank range with light weapons. As some soldiers tried to flee towards a nearby house, they were struck with an anti-personnel bomb, resulting in additional deaths and injuries.
When a rescue force arrived, it was also targeted. Two Merkava tanks were hit, one by a tandem shell and another by a Shawaz explosive device.
Al-Qassam Brigades further released footage showing the capture of drones during operational and intelligence missions in Al-Bureij camp, located in the central Gaza Strip.
In a separate strike, Al-Qassam targeted a Zionist Merkava tank near the Umm Al-Mu’minin Aisha Mosque in Jabalia Camp.
However, the toll on Palestinian civilians has been devastating. Over 70 Palestinians have been killed since this morning, including 26 women and children, following an Israeli airstrike on the Rufaida school in Deir al-Balah, which was sheltering displaced people.
According to government sources, the massacre left 92 others injured. Disturbing videos show the aftermath, with bodies shattered and children suffering horrific injuries, as blood covers the scene.
