Al Islami organises Ramadan Football Cup

Al Islami Foods recently organised a friendly Ramadan inter-retail football tournament at Al Wasl Sports Club, Dubai. The stunning performance of the Sharjah Cooperative Society secured them a stylish win and overall top performer of the one-day tournament.

The inter-retail cup contestants hailed from: Eppco, Sharjah Cooperative Society, Union Cooperative Society, Auchan, Emirates Cooperative Society, HyperPanda, Al Ain Cooperative Society and Al Wafa.

Teams played against one another to show their sporting skills and high team spirit. The champion, Sharjah Cooperative Society, grabbed the 1st position and awarded with the golden glowing Al Islami Retail Football Cup and a cash prize of AED 10,000.

The Emirates Cooperative Society secured the second position as well as the runner and awarded with the cash prize of AED 5,000. The Best Player, the Best Goalkeeper, and the Best Scorer bagged attractive memorial trophies and cash prizes.

Saleh Abdullah Lootah, Managing Director of Al Islami Foods, while addressing the teams at Al Wasl football stadium, commented: "We believe sports are vital in building relationships and bridging communication gaps", and added: "The purpose of organising this tournament was to create a family environment and team spirit with our retailers. We do business with them every day, but there should be a time away from business to socialize, enjoy and be friends".
