An airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen targeted on Monday a building used by police forces in Sanaa, killing at least 26 and wounding 15, security officials said.
The officials, loyal to Iran-backed Houthi rebel forces, added that 30 more people are believed to be trapped under the debris of the building, located in the city center.
The area was sealed off by security forces as they began searching for survivors in the debris. The death toll was originally reported as 20, but 6 more bodies were later removed from the rubble.
The dead and wounded policemen were Houthis, the officials said.
The targeted police building was sometimes used as a gathering point for Houthi forces when preparing for deployment in other areas of the country.
On Monday, assailants also opened fire on a judge, Abdel-Hadi Mohammed, near his home in the Mansura district of Aden, the latest assassination in the southern city serving as a temporary base for the government of Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
Since the Arab coalition's military involvement began last March in Yemen, over 6,000 have been killed.
