The re-elected Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday the latest elections were "free and healthy", dismissing fraud calims by his reformist rival. "People voted for my policies," the president said in televised address a day after the election.
Meanwhile, thousands of Iranians clashed with police on Saturday after the victory of Ahmadinejad. Up to 3,000 followers of reformist candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi took part in the protests. According to Al Arabiya TV, three protestors were kulled during the clashes. There were also reports that senior reformist figures were arrested on Saturday.
