Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the Iranian nation will defend its rights to the end since it considers pursuit of peaceful nuclear energy as the country's inalienable right.

Addressing a huge crowd in a northern Iranian city, the president noted that "bullying powers" have always opposed Iran's efforts to access peaceful nuclear technology. The Iranian people want peace, brotherhood and dialogue, he said, adding that they have no intention of surrendering their legal rights.

"Today, the Iranian people have a responsibility to contribute to the development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and make it an example for other world countries to follow," President Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by IRNA.
