The newly appointed Secretary-General of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Attyia, has extended the AGCC General Secretariat's readiness to support the efforts exerted by the Zayed Center for Coordination and Follow-Up in enriching the Arab political and intellectual clout.
The offer came Friday in the course of a meeting between Attiya and Mohammed Khalifa Al Marar, Executive Director of the Zayed Center, at the center headquarters, according to Khaleej Times.
"The center, under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been widely contributing and sustaining the joint Arab issues in devising strategic goals based on unity and stability of the Arab countries," Attiya said.
"I do congratulate the UAE leadership, citizens and the center's officials and workers on this great achievement which serves our nation's interests and promotes joint Arab stance to cover the eventualities that challenge the Arab world," said Attiya, a former minister of state for foreign affairs in Qatar who has succeeded Jamil Hujailan of the Saudi Kingdom as AGCC secretary-general.
Marar said the center, under the directives of Shaikh Sultan, would not spare any effort in promoting the Arab relations and unity, particularly in the current situation. (Albawaba.com)
