The presidency of the African Union called on all parties in Cote d'Ivoire to immediately stop all military confrontations renewed in the north of the country.

This came in a statement issued Saturday, cited by Jana, following the meeting of President Olusegun Obsanjo, the current chairman of the African Union, and chairman of the African Union commission, Alpha Umare Konare, in Lagos during which it has been decided to establish a committee to address the political issues of developments in Cote d'Ivoire.
