Afghan Minister of Education concludes Iran visit

Afghanistan’s Education Minister Mohammad Yunis Qanuni winded up his two-day visit to Tehran and left for Kabul Tuesday.  

 

Speaking upon arrival in the Afghani capital, Qanuni termed his negotiations with Iranian officials as 'satisfactory', adding that the Islamic Republic has expressed readiness to assist the Afghan government in all educational fields.  

 

According to IRNA, in the course of his stay in Iran's capital, the Afghan minister held separate meetings with Iranian President Mohammad Khatami, Education Minister Morteza Haji and other Iranian officials. He discussed with them mutual coperation in various fields. 

 

In addition, the Iranian and Afghan education ministers concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mutual cooperation in the educational and scientific spheres. 

 

In line with the MoU, the Iranian side is committed to assist the Afghan government to reconstruct schools, compile and write textbooks and set up printing houses as well as train Afghan instructors. (Albawaba.com)
