Acrobatics, Aquatics and Aerial Humour to Entertain Mall of the Emirates Visitors during DSS
Popular leisure and shopping centre unveils its Dubai Summer Surprises programme
Mall of the Emirates, Dubai’s leading shopping, leisure and entertainment destination, is packing in nine-weeks of non-stop entertainment for the entire family as part of this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises programme that runs from June 19 to August 22.
A variety of acts will take place at the centre throughout the festival, ranging from the graceful and balletic, to the comical and energetic, as talented entertainers from across the performing arts spectrum showcase their skills to keep visitors amused.
Starting the celebrations from Thursday, June 19th to Saturday, June 28th will be a stunning demonstration of synchronised swimming from ‘Aquasync.’ The team’s talented performance is an act of water-borne ballet, which combines uniquely choreographed movements and athletic leaps into a specially constructed pool, revealing just how elegant and artistic the body can be when supported with the medium of water.
A more energetic display of movement will be provided from Thursday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 13th by Cirque Le Masque. With their impeccable timing, quick reflexes and gymnastic abilities, this group has thrilled audiences across the world with their sell-out shows, representing all that is best about the circus and engaging the crowds watching them by involving them in their carefully crafted shows.

Those delighting in a bit of slapstick comedy should catch the hilarious airborne antics of the trampolining troupe, Crazy Tramps, who will be guaranteeing broad smiles and many a laugh from Wednesday, July 16th to Friday July 25th. Crazy Tramps are another group of performers who have enjoyed global success, entertaining children and adults alike with their high tempo display and riotous capers.
If a more hands-on activity is what you prefer, then the first-of-its-kind competitive live action gaming in the region at the Galleria, Magic Planet could see you becoming champion of champions. Heats for the competition are being held in the various Magic Planet venues across the Emirates and the winners from these contests will be battling it out along with wild card entries on each day from Monday, July 28th to Wednesday, August 6th.
Finally, breaking away from the visual art performances and allowing the senses to be challenged is yet another first in the region - the installation ‘It’s Just an Illusion,’ which will feature at the mall from Sunday, August 10th to Saturday, August 23rd. In this exhibition, seeing is not necessarily believing as customers enter a topsy turvey world that has been set up to play incredible tricks on perception. Optical illusions abound, seemingly distorting reality and revealing more of how our minds try to interpret the world. The interactive exhibition will leave many people scratching their heads and wondering, “How is this possible…?”
