Acer Inc. 2007 preliminary financial results

Acer Inc. announces the 2007 preliminary financial results with consolidated revenue of NT$461.7B (US$14.06B), representing 25% in annual growth. The preliminary result includes revenue of the final 2.5 months in 2007 from Acer’s wholly owned subsidiary, Gateway Inc.

Acer’s 2007 operating income reached NT$10.2B (US$310.63M), marking 30% on-year growth and represented 80% of profits after tax (PAT) at NT$12.9B (US$392.86M). Meanwhile, earnings per share (EPS) was NT$5.4.

For Q4 2007, Acer’s consolidated revenue was NT$146.7B (US$4.47B) for 24% growth on year. Operating income was NT$3.5B (US$106.59M), marking 44% growth on year. In addition, Gateway was also profitable in the fourth quarter; and the smooth integration with Acer is under way.

Holding an optimistic outlook for the 2008 PC industry, Acer expects its notebook to grow by 40% and total PCs by 30~35% on-year, in terms of unit shipment.
