Abudlaziz Al Faisal fastest in qualifying for third round of GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East

Saudi’s Arabia’s Prince Abdulaziz Al Faizal claimed pole position for the third round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, the race which makes motor sport history in Saudi Arabia later this afternoon.
 
The joint championship leader set the fastest qualifying time of 1:16:850 to edge out Bahrain’s Sheikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifah, 1:16:895, who had grabbed pole position for the first two rounds on home territory last month.
 
The third round of the new Porsche one-make series goes down in motor sport history as the first official international circuit race ever to be staged in Saudi, and it is clearly a sign of things to come at Reem International Circuit outside Riyadh.
 
Saudi’s Bandar Alesayi was third fastest in qualifying with a time of 1:17:021 ahead of team-mate Bandar Alireza in 1:17:133, teenager Fahad Algosaibi in 1:17:381 and another Saudi driver, Raed Abuzenadah (KSA), in 1:17:886
