Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre joins prestigious IMEX 2008 as corporate exhibitor

Centre  attracts  key European MICE industry players

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced that it has exhibited at IMEX 2008, the prestigious international exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, from April 21 to 22 in Frankfurt, Germany.

ADNEC, which joined IMEX as part of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) Corporate Stand, aimed to attract European meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry members to its world-class facilities and services, and promote Abu Dhabi as a premier business travel destination.

IMEX 2008 gathered more than 3,400 exhibitors from over 150 countries to attend themed sessions and round-table discussions on the latest industry trends and issues as well as network with international delegates. Organisers welcomed 3,592 hosted buyers from 57 countries and 4,718 non-hosted buyers and trade visitors from 97 countries last year.

H.E. Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, Managing Director of ADNEC, said: “IMEX 2008 was the next stop in ADNEC’s highly successful international promotional tour.. We definitely attracted interest to what is poised to become the best exhibition facility in the Middle East, and jointly promoted Abu Dhabi’s progressive business climate and key role in the region’s burgeoning MICE industry with ADTA.”

ADNEC’s participation in IMEX 2008 follows its successful hosting of the 2008 Gulf Incentive Business Travel and Meetings (GIBTM) Exhibition held recently in ADNEC’s own facilities. GIBTM provided an excellent preview of Abu Dhabi’s growing business tourism sector to several participants and guests who will also be trooping to the European MICE exhibition.

“ADNEC continues to be a platform for Abu Dhabi to showcase its potential as a globally preferred tourist and business destination, especially for business travelers and corporate events. The exceptional facilities and services we will offer to our potential European customers reflect Abu Dhabi’s own commitment to excellence and its evolving role as a global partner for business,” added Mazrouie

ADNEC currently comprises 28,000 sqm of exhibition floor space across seven interconnected halls, two state-of-the-art conference rooms, 16 meeting rooms, and a 2,000 sqm food court. The iconic facility will offer 55,000 sqm of total floor space upon later this year, making it the largest exhibition venue in the Middle East.
