King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak held talks that were expected to concentrate on the situation in the Palestinian territories. Abdullah left Cairo without making a statement.

Following talks with Mubarak, King Abdullah headed to Casablanca, Morocco, to hold similar talks with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, who has been making a private visit to that country.

On Sunday night, King Abdullah was to fly to London for a Monday meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said he was not interested in meeting his Israeli peer Shimon Peres at the upcoming Euro-Mediterranean conference in Spain.

"Frankly, I don't want to meet him but if he asks to see me, I would accept," Maher said in reply to a question from journalists before he left for the meeting in the Spanish city of Valencia.

"In any case, I think he would not be happy with what I would tell him and I think he would not try to meet me because he knows very well what our positions are," he added. (Albawaba.com)
