The King Hussein Cancer Foundation's 'Dreams Come True' program was sponsored for the second year running by Abdali Investment and Development Psc for a six-month period from July – December 2010.
The 'Dreams Come True' program was created by the Foundation to help alleviate the stress pediatric cancer patients face during their rigorous treatment. The Program has a variety of activities such as birthday parties for pediatric inpatients celebrating a birthday during their treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), and end-of-treatment celebrations for children who have bravely completed their treatment. The Program also grants final wishes to terminally ill patients, supplies toys and arts & crafts material for KHCC's playroom, and distributes gifts to pediatric inpatients on religious holidays and special events throughout the year. The Program is intended to provide relief for children undergoing cancer care, and to provide an atmosphere of fun and joy for pediatric patients during their long and difficult treatment.
HRH Princess Dina Mired, Director General of the Foundation, expressed her gratitude to Abdali Investment for their ongoing support of this Program, saying "This Program has impact beyond simply bringing smiles to our young patients' faces; it is an integral part of the comprehensive cancer care the Center offers". Princess Dina urged companies and organizations to continue their support of the Foundation and Center, not only to aide cancer patients but as part of their corporate social responsibility.
Mr. Mouhib Itani, CEO of Abdali Investment and Development Psc., expressed his admiration for the 'Dreams Come True' program and all it has achieved, saying "Our human vision and mission stems from the essence of our corporate social responsibility, and our participation with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation for a second year running is an embodiment of our faith in their mission and an assurance of our desire to offer all that we can to support its programs".
In addition to supporting the 'Dreams Come True' program for two years, Abdali Investment and Development Psc previously partnered with KHCF through a platinum sponsorship of the 2007 Hope Gala, sponsored one month of the Summer Camp for pediatric patients at KHCC in 2008, and supported KHCF by purchasing handmade greeting cards painted by pediatric children at the Center. Abdali Psc also supported KHCF during the first Amman International Marathon last year, by donating JD 10 on behalf of every participant completing the 42km Marathon for the benefit of KHCF which amounted to JD 1190.
