Israeli settlers wounded Friday a child and three international activists in a peaceful rally in the West Bank city of Hebron, witnesses said. They added that Israeli settlers of "Ramat Yishai" assaulted a peaceful rally against Tal ar-Remedah neighbourhood in the city, wounding the 8-year-old Moh'sen Abu Esha together with three international pacifists.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers attacked an anti-wall demonstration in Bil'in village in Ramallah and launched tear-gassed protestors, causing suffocation to scores of them, witnesses told WAFA. They added the soldiers wounded Fadi Ali, 14, a one-year-old baby and an international peace activist.
Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Friday that the "Yasser Arafat International Airport," south of the Gaza Strip, will be reconstructed and reopened "very soon." The Airport was opened in 1998 by President Clinton and Arafat himself and serviced Palestinians seeking to fly in and out the Gaza Strip.
In 2000, the Israeli Army closed the airport and several months later destroyed the runway and control tower, with estimated damages exceeding more than $8 million.
Abbas added that the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip is the outcome of the Palestinians' sacrifices and patience. President Abbas promised to the people of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, to rebuild their houses destroyed by Israel.
