8th International Gastronomy Festival Kicked Off

GASTRONOMY FESTIVAL started this month, bringing together thousands of chefs and kitchens from all over the world under the same roof, as the eighth edition of a traditional occasion dedicated to the universal nature of culinary culture.

Marked for brining together the Turkish Cuisine and international cuisines as well as Turkish chefs with world chefs at the same platform, the opening day of the festival took start, The first one of the many contests taking place within the festival has been held in "Junior Category''. The contest showcasing skills displayed by students coming from many cookery schools across Turkey and across the globe has been great attention and acclaim of both the jury and the audience.

Participation rate being 10,000 last year, is expected to be more than 15,000 this year. YALCIN MANAV, the President of All Cooks Federation said, "Interest shows to International Gastronomy Festival that was organize since 2003 has increased year after year and the organization has entered the top ten festivals approved by WACS.

Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture will host the tastes of many countries from across the globe, thus also featuring as the centre of culinary culture.

World famous chefs, celebrated further as a motivational speaker and a specialist of leadership and establishing team-work, Chrles M. CARROL has come to Turkey within the frame of the festival. Charles M. CARROL will be the speaker of the seminar to be held on 20 March 2010 at TUYAP Beylikduzu Exhibition and convention Centre, at 14:00. Chef CARROL, renowned as a life-guru in the USA, is the author of the book: Leadership Lessons from a Chef: Finding Time to Be Great. His readers in the USA comment as, '' The inspiration he has given has led thousands of individuals to achieve the top of their potentials". The winner of 70 national and international awards, CARROL will share his experience as a life coach in the seminar.

8th INTERNATIONAL ISTANBUL GASTRONOMY FESTIVAL welcomes participant countries from across the world, some which are: South Korea, the USA, Albania, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Romania, Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, Croatia, Egypt, Israel, Azerbaijan, India, Mongolia, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, Southern Cyprus and Northern Cyprus.

Functional as a great bridge between Turkey and the whole world within the mission of introducing the Turkish Consulate to the globe, the organization has grown exponentially since the day it was born. The festival, held for the eighth time is supported by many public institutions and NGOs and organized by All Cooks Federation.
