750 job openings at Dubai Customs in 2008
80 per cent of employees in Dubai Customs are UAE nationals

Dubai Customs today announced the availability of 750 job openings in 2008. The big announcement comes during Dubai Customs participation in “UAE Career Fair 2008”, which has been opened today in Dubai World Trade Center, in a move aiming at creating an ideal platform for UAE nationals, who look forward to start or develop their career, to meet and communicate with training officials and experts from the Human Resources Department at Dubai Customs.

Taking part in UAE Career Fair 2008 this year, Dubai Customs aims at enabling highly qualified UAE nationals to view a series of training and recruitment opportunities, communicate with Customs Executives and training expertise to discuss jobs and work opportunities and holding face to face sessions for examining career options with recruitment officials.

Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General of Dubai Customs said: “Dubai Customs participation comes within the framework of implementing the recently launched customs strategic plan 2007-2011 and focusing on its third objective of providing best human and technological resources through recruiting highly qualified manpower”.

Feryal Tawakul, Executive Director, Human Resources & Development Sector, indicated that the Exhibition would constitute an ideal platform to enhance Emiratisation at Dubai Customs, saying that Emiratisation throughout Dubai is 80 per cent.

“90 per cent of the recruited employees in 2008’s Q1 were UAE national, noting that focus over the next period would be on intense training to prepare new managers and conduct advanced training courses.

Dubai Customs has build a distinctive stand with a size of 2550 square foot, which allows the UAE nationals to apply online or manually for the job openings.
