"Rebels" in Haydan of Sadah, to the north of Sana'a, have used mortars, landmines and rocket-propelled grenades against the Yemeni army, but the latter killed scores of them and injured and captured "many others," an Interior Ministry source told Saba nwes agency.

During the past few days of clashes the Yemeni army killed 46 fighters, injured 35 others and captured 43, the source elaborated in the statement.

"The rebels in custody are being interrogated and justice will be brought to them."

"The deviant defiant elements who broke the law and order under the command of militant Badr al-Din al-Hawthi" are accused by the government of vandalism acts including the hoisting the flag of another country instead of the Yemeni flag.

Security forces seized a quantity of ammunition in their hideouts, added the source. (Albawaba.com)
