New statistics released today by the UK Home Office show that 412 people were arrested for terrorism-related offenses in the U.K. in 2017.

Of those arrested, 110 were charged with a terror-related offence, and a further 25 were charged with another offence.

Of the 412 people arrested, only 25 were convicted of a terror-related offense.

The Home Office report, which can be found here, notes that terrorism-related charges and convictions “include some charges and convictions under non-terrorism legislation, where the offence is considered to be terrorism-related.”

2017 saw multiple terror attacks carried out in the U.K., including a bombing at an Ariana Grande concert which resulted in 22 people, many of them children, being killed.
